Make a card repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or on a custom schedule. The next one appears when you complete it; skip, stop, or end a schedule.
A repeating card comes back on a schedule, so recurring work such as a weekly site walk, a monthly invoice check, or a yearly license renewal never has to be typed in again. Set it from the card's dates under Repeat. When you complete the card, the next one appears with its next date, and only one is open at a time. Repeating cards are free on every plan, on Your Ark and on group Arkboards.
A repeating card needs a due date, so a card without dates is given today. Completed cards can't start repeating: reopen the card first. Anyone who can edit a card can set, change, skip, or stop its repeat.
The ready-made schedules follow the card's own date. If the card is due on Tuesday, October 20, the menu offers:
| Option | Repeats |
|---|---|
| Daily | Every day |
| Every weekday (Mon to Fri) | Monday to Friday |
| Weekly on Tue | Every week, on the card's weekday |
| Monthly on the 20th | Every month, on the card's day of the month |
| Yearly on Oct 20 | Every year, on the card's date |
| Custom | Every 1 to 99 days, weeks, months, or years. Weekly lets you pick several days (every 2 weeks on Monday and Thursday); monthly takes a day from 1 to 31; yearly takes a month and a day. |
Days that a month doesn't have land on its last day: a card set for the 31st is due on April 30, and a yearly card on February 29 is due on February 28 in other years.
The next card appears the moment you complete the current one, at the top of the same column, on every Arkboard the card was on. The confirmation shows when it is due next.
The title, the notes (with checklists unticked), and the location carry over, along with the Responsible person and Participants who accepted or hadn't answered yet. Nobody is asked again for each occurrence: the request says that accepting covers every one. People who declined, or who have left the card's group, are not carried over. Discussion and History stay with each card.
Open the card's menu and choose Skip to, which names the next date. The card moves there without being completed, and a skip doesn't count toward an “after a number of times” ending. You can undo a skip like any date change. The last occurrence of a schedule has nothing to skip to, so the option doesn't appear there.
Choose Stop repeating in the card's menu. The card stays, and completing it no longer creates another. A schedule can also end on its own, set under Ends:
Setting a repeat again on a stopped card resumes the same schedule, and its count of completions carries on.
Arkscape asks which you mean. Delete just this one removes this occurrence and the next one takes its place, without counting as a completion. Delete and stop repeating removes it and ends the schedule. On the last occurrence there is a single Delete button.
Either way the card goes to Recently deleted for 30 days. Restoring a card deleted with “just this one” takes back the replacement if nobody has touched it, and restoring one deleted with “stop repeating” resumes the schedule.
Reopening takes back the next card, as long as nobody has worked on it yet (no edits, moves, answers, highlights, or discussion). If someone has, both cards stay, and completing the reopened one won't create a third.
A repeat icon sits next to the card's date, on the board and on the calendar. Hovering it shows the schedule and the next date, such as “Weekly on Tue · Next: Tue, Oct 27”, or “Last one”. An open card shows the schedule with how it ends, and its page lists Other occurrences, open and done.
The time zone of the person who last set the repeat. The schedule keeps its local times through daylight saving changes, so a 9:00 AM card stays at 9:00 AM all year.
No. They are included in every plan, including Free.
Yes. The next card lands on the group's board and on the Arks of the people on it.
So the board shows the work that is actually next. A calendar full of future copies hides what matters this week, and a missed week would leave overdue duplicates behind.
Use Duplicate in the card's menu for similar work that doesn't come back on a schedule. See Arkboard System.
