Card reminders, browser notifications, the emails Arkscape sends and when, the Friday week summary, and how to unsubscribe.
Arkscape reaches you in three ways: in the app (the bell), as browser notifications, and by email. Email is kept for what needs your answer, an optional digest, and a short week summary on Fridays, so your inbox isn't where the work happens. Every setting is in Settings > Notifications, in three sections: Card reminders, Browser notifications, and Email notifications.
Reminders tell you when a card on Your Ark starts or is due. They are on by default and set once for your whole account, not card by card.
Four kinds you control, each with its own switch under Email notifications:
| Setting | What it sends | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Action items | An email when something needs your answer: an assignment or card invitation, a group invitation, a join or follow request, a highlight registration, or an offer to take over a group. It waits about 5 minutes and isn't sent if you read it in the app first. | On |
| Activity digest | One email of your unread activity, around 8am your time: Daily, Weekly (on Mondays), or Off. It is skipped if you used Arkscape in the last 24 hours. | Weekly |
| Include social activity | Adds likes, shares, and new followers to your digest | Off |
| Weekly reflection | Your week summary, on Friday afternoon (see below) | On |
Several updates on the same thing arrive as one email, and action item emails are capped at 5 an hour. Essential account and billing emails, such as email verification and password resets, are always sent.
The week summary is a short look back at your last 7 days, free on every plan. Open it any time from the ... menu next to the Home page title, under Week summary. It shows how many cards you completed compared with the week before, what is due in the next 7 days, what is overdue, what is waiting for your answer, and a 12-week view of the days you finished work.
You then choose what reaches this device: Action items (on), Updates (on), Activity (off), and Card reminders (on). Each browser you enable is listed under Your devices, where you can revoke it. If notifications were blocked before, allow them again in your browser's site settings for arkscape.com.
Yes, for unread requests, from the bell or the Notifications page:
Declining waits 5 seconds with an Undo. When several requests are grouped into one notification, open it to answer each.
Every email ends with Notification settings and Unsubscribe. Unsubscribe turns off only that kind of email: unsubscribing from a digest leaves action items on, and the other way around. Mail apps that offer a one-click unsubscribe button use the same link. To turn something back on, use Settings > Notifications.
Yours, from Settings > Preferences. With Set automatically on, it follows the time zone of the browser you use.
