Connect Claude or ChatGPT to read and update your cards, and see how their changes are labeled.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your Arkscape account and work on your Ark by asking: “What's due this week?”, “Add a card for Friday's client call”, “Mark the budget review done”. The app acts as you, with exactly your access, and every change it makes is labeled so your teammates know it came through an AI.
In the AI app, add a custom connector with this address:
https://api.arkscape.com/mcp
Run this in a terminal, start a new conversation, then type /mcp, choose arkscape and select Authenticate.
claude mcp add --transport http arkscape https://api.arkscape.com/mcp
Other apps that support MCP connectors can use the same address.
The app then sends you to Arkscape to sign in and approve. The approval page names the app, lists what it will be able to do, and shows which account it will use. Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code carry a Verified app badge there. Any other app is shown as unverified, with a warning: only allow it if you trust it.
These apps rename their menus from time to time. If a step doesn't match what you see, check that app's own help pages for adding a custom MCP connector.
| It can | Where |
|---|---|
| See your Arkboards and cards | Your Ark and the Arkboards of groups you can open |
| See your agenda and progress | What's overdue or due soon, and Reports where you can open them |
| Read discussions about a card | The group posts that attach it, with their latest replies |
| See who's in a group | Names and roles only, never contact details |
| Create cards | One at a time or up to 20 at once, on Arkboards where you can add cards |
| Edit cards | Title, notes, dates and location, and ticking checklist items |
| Complete and reopen cards | Under the same rules as you |
| Move cards | Between columns of the same Arkboard |
| Take cards on for you | Make you Responsible or a participant on a group card, and accept or decline requests waiting for you |
| Delete cards | Only cards you made that nobody else is on and that aren't highlighted or linked in a post, one at a time. They stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, and it can restore them |
It can't ask anyone else to take a card on, take a card over from someone, step down from a card for you, delete a card someone else is on, or move a card between your Ark and a group, since that changes who can see it. Apart from discussions about a card, it never reads your posts, messages or files, and it never sees anyone's email address.
When you approve a connection, you decide two things:
An Arkboard you leave out is invisible to the app: it isn't listed, searched or reachable by a link. That includes its cards when they appear on Your Ark, because you're Responsible for them or taking part: a card always follows the choice for the Arkboard it belongs to. The one exception keeps your own work together: if you can't open a group's Arkboard, the cards you're on from that group reach you only on Your Ark, so they come with Your Ark.
You can change both at any time with Edit access in Settings, Connected apps. The change applies the next time the app works on your Ark, with no need to reconnect. When Arkscape adds a new kind of change, an app you connected earlier waits for your OK: Edit access shows what's new, and saving with changes on allows it.
Arkscape offers a few ready-made requests to AI apps that support them (Claude Code lists them as slash commands):
Each one asks before changing anything.
A change an AI makes for you is still yours: you are the one named, and you stay responsible for it. The app is added after your name, so a card completed through Claude reads “Completed by Maria Santos via Claude”. The same label appears on the card's details, in the notification your teammates get, in Ark Requests updates (including a request it accepted or declined for you), in Recently Deleted, and in report logs. An app Arkscape doesn't recognize is shown as “via an AI app”, never under a name it chose for itself.
Notifications work exactly as if you made the change yourself, and a repeating card completed by an AI creates its next occurrence as usual.
Settings, Connected apps lists every app connected to your account, what it can reach, when it was last used, and its recent changes, each linking to the card. Edit access changes what it can reach, and Revoke disconnects it right away; you can connect it again at any time.
In an organization, admins can turn AI connectors off for everyone under Admin panel, Preferences. Turning it off disconnects every member's apps immediately. It covers your whole account, including your Ark, because your Ark shows cards from your organization's groups.
What a connected app reads is sent to the company that makes it (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT) and handled under their terms. Nothing is shared with an app until you connect it.
